The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki accepted its first students in 1926 at the Faculty of Philosophy and has since grown to be one of the largest universities in Greece. It comprises of 10 Faculties which consist of 40 Schools and one single-School Faculty, serving a vast array of scientific fields, ranging from natural and technological to social and health sciences, arts and humanities.
Every Faculty\/School offers an Undergraduate degree, Postgraduate degrees (Master) and Doctoral degrees (Ph.D.), as well as Lifelong Learning courses covering a wide variety of fields of study (https:\/\/www.auth.gr\/en\/diaviou), Summer Schools and other short cycle study programmes.
In total, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki offers 42 Undergraduate Programmes, 150 Postgraduate Programmes, 41 Ph.D. Programmes, 6 Joint Postgraduate Programmes and 27 Agreements for Joint Ph.D. Programmes, offered in cooperation with foreign Universities.
The main University Campus is located in the heart of the city of Thessaloniki, while some educational and administrative facilities, such as the Campus in Thermi, the University Farm and others, are located off campus for practical and operational reasons. A number of these facilities are located outside the city of Thessaloniki or even in other cities.

AUTh in Numbers<\/em><\/strong>
Almost 87.500 students study at the Aristotle University, around 77.000 in undergraduate programmes, 6.000 in postgraduate programmes and 4.500 at Doctoral level.
The Aristotle University employs nearly 2.000 faculty members and teaching staff, 150 Special Technical Laboratory Personnel and more than 500 administration employees.<\/p>\n
