Vat number & Taxes

Signing a contract for a job or scholarship and/or opening a bank account will require a Greek VAT number (a unique number that identifies a taxable person, a person carrying out any economic activity). You can get a VAT Number from the Tax Office (the service is free).

You will fill in and submit documents M1 and M7 at the Tax Office : D’ DOY THESSALONIKIS, Address: 38, Vas. Irakliou street, 7th floor (it’s near Aristotelous Square – inside the shopping centre, it’s the same place where ODEON cinema is) The Department that you’ll submit the documents is called Mitroo (Μητρώο in Greek). Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00-13:30. (Address of the Tax Office in Greek it’s Εφορία: Δ’ ΔΟΥ ΘΕΣΣΣΑΛΟΝΙΚΗΣ, Βασ. Ηρακλείου 38).
